Features:
- Clear Speech Transmission: Uses a remote microphone to transmit the teacher’s voice directly to the student’s hearing aids, improving speech clarity even in noisy environments or from a distance.
- 2.4 GHz Bluetooth Low Energy Connectivity: Connects wirelessly to Oticon hearing aids via Bluetooth, allowing seamless integration without extra accessories.
- Multiple Input Options: Features auxiliary (AUX) and mini-jack input options, allowing easy connection to classroom devices, like computers, TV’s, Tablets and Smartboards. It also has inbuilt Telecoil, which allows it to pick up audio from telecoil systems often used in lecture halls and auditoriums.
- Ease of Use: Simple one-button operation makes it accessible to all children and teachers. Furthermore, the automatic pairing with Oticon hearing aids minimizes setup time.
Benefits:
- Enhanced Speech Understanding: By transmitting the teacher’s voice directly to the student’s hearing aids, the Oticon EduMic helps the student understand speech more clearly, even in challenging listening environments. This is particularly beneficial in noisy classrooms where background noise might interfere with hearing.
- Improved Classroom Engagement: By ensuring students can hear the teacher and audio from various multimedia sources, the EduMic helps students stay engaged and focused, which can improve learning outcomes and participation.
- Support for Multisource Audio: Allows students to receive audio from several sources (teachers, computers, tablets, etc.) through their hearing aids without any interruptions, making it easier to switch between learning activities.
- Increased Independence for Students: Due to it’s ease of use and ability to connect to multiple devices, the EduMic gives students greater independence in managing their own hearing needs without needing extensive help from teachers or support staff.
- Enhanced Learning in Larger or Noisy Venues: The inclusion of a telecoil allows students to connect to hearing loops in larger settings, such as auditoriums and lecture halls, ensuring they don’t miss important information during assemblies or presentations.
FAQ’s
Instructions
- Pairing to your hearing aids: Ensure the device is fully charged before first use. To connect a new pair of hearing aids to the EduMic, ensure the device is turned off. Turn both hearing aids off (this can be done by opening the battery door if non-rechargeable). Turn on the EduMic by holding the main button until the LED lights are illuminated. Turn your hearing aids on (you can do this by closing the battery doors). It will now search for your hearing aids (the LED indicator will turn solid green, then begin to flash blue). Ensure your hearing aids are placed no further than 8 inches away from the device.
- Confirmation: Once your hearing aids are paired, the second LED will turn to a solid green light again. You can now begin streaming audio to your hearing aids.
Please see the video below for an example of how to pair your hearing aids. (Please note, the below is an example using hearing aids that use disposable batteries.)
